How to Use Your National Disability Card
From showing your card while travelling to getting the help and understanding you need - plus carer tickets, concessions and discounts

A visual tool that speaks for you
Show your card whenever you'd find it helpful for others to know you're disabled - avoid awkward conversations, judgement, or questions, and get the help and understanding you need. With its instantly recognisable International Symbol of Access, the card speaks for you.
On public transport
Fellow passengers may offer you a seat or a helping hand.
At airports
Staff may direct you to the right lane, or help you avoid a queue, and fellow passengers can be more understanding.
At events and in shops
Let staff and fellow guests know you need assistance, or even just patience - without going into symptoms.
“The card has helped members of the public recognise why I may become overwhelmed in certain situations and also members of staff are now quick to assist me. The card is a physical visibility of the hidden disability.”

“I think the card is absolutely fantastic and a life saver for my daughter! She has a rare and hidden disability and this card allows us to feel ‘seen’. As well as discounts for her swimming lessons, theatre tickets, local attractions around Cornwall, it has also given her a disability pass at theme parks such as Disney and ZooMarine in Portugal.”
